"The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has not been canceled, the work on it continues," the developers from Ubisoft said
Work on the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time did not go according to plan from the beginning.
Here's What We Know
Publishers Ubisoft entrusted the work on this project to their Indian division, which did not have enough experience and qualifications for such responsible work. As a result, already the first trailer was harshly criticized for outdated graphics and poor animation.
Then a coronavirus attacked and threw the plans to all the developers without exception.
After that the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was redesigned by Ubisoft Montréal, but it took too much time and resources to redo the work of Indian colleagues.
As a result, gamers who made the pre-order suffered. They got their money back, of course, but the remake is still a long time to wait.
So long that many people decided that Ubisoft cancelled the project.
When We Can Expect It
The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is still in work, as the developer announced in a special appeal to gamers.
The work is still in progress, and the new release date will be announced, when the game is ready for release.
