Online is available again: Dark Souls Remastered PC version servers restored after a long shutdown
Following the launch of the servers of the PC version of FromSoftware reported that the servers of the PC version of Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin have been restored and announced plans to bring back online components in other parts of the series, the developers from FromSoftware also fixed the servers of Dark Souls Remastered.

Unfortunately, due to outdated network code, the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition servers will not be reactivated. Therefore, those who want to play the first part again will have to use its remaster.
Flashback
In January 2022 the servers of all Dark Souls PC games were shut down because of the found out exploit, which allowed the potential attackers to get the access to the computers and data.
Fortunately, the problem bypassed FromSoftware's newest game Elden Ring, though many experts and gamers feared it because of the nearly identical network code.
