Total circulation of all Metal Gear games is approaching 60 million copies

Konami, the Japanese publisher, has released the current sales figures for its most popular franchises from its financial report.

Here's What We Know

At the end of IV quarter of fiscal year 2022 the sales of all Metal Gear games reached 59.5 million copies!

As a reminder, the first Metal Gear game was released in 1987, and the release of the last game in the series so far, titled Survive in 2018 and turned out to be a complete flop.

There are rumours that Konami will be announcing a number of new projects under the Metal Gear Solid brand in 2023. It is believed that among them will be a remake of one of the parts of MGS.

By the way, the producer of Metal Gear Solid recently hinted that "2023 will be a year of many long-awaited announcements".
