Netflix Games will release 40 mobile games in 2023, with a total of 87 projects in development
At the moment, Netflix is not perceived by users as a gaming platform.
The company admits that less than 1% of subscribers to the service have run projects offered by Netflix Games, but that could change soon.
Here's What We Know
A number of good mobile games are already available to Netflix subscribers, but the company's catalogue is set to expand significantly in the future.
Thus, at a press briefing on the gaming division of the platform, Netflix representatives said that forty mobile games will be released in 2023. Most of these are being developed by third-party studios, such as Ubisoft's Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace, an action-RPG announced yesterday.
There are currently 87 games in development, only 16 of which are being developed by Netflix's in-house studios.
The company is banking on games based on its most popular franchises and has no intention of departing from that strategy.
