The official announcement of Counter-Strike 2 has been made.
The first details about the new shooter you can read in our previous article.
Here's What We Know
Developers from Valve revealed the first details about the upcoming test of the new online shooter.
Unlike most developers, Valve employees will decide which of the players to give access to the game.
The choice of testers will be based on several criteria, such as:
- Time spent playing CS:GO;
- Confidence rating in the core version;
- Date of the last match in Counter-Strike.
The player will know that he has been selected after a notification appears in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive main menu and the "join testing" button will be available along with it.
Players are selected for the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test based on a number of factors deemed important by the Counter-Strike 2 development team, including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing.
- CS2 (@CounterStrike) March 22, 2023
The company notes that it will be gradually increasing the number of test participants, so if you weren't selected among the first - don't despair, you will probably join the team later.
Players who get access to CS 2 will be able to stream the game on videohosting without any problems.
The exact timing of the testing is not yet specified, but it's likely to take place until the very release of Counter-Strike 2, which is scheduled for the summer of 2023.
