Thanks to enthusiasts, you can now play Half Life Alyx even without a VR helmet

If you don't have a virtual reality helmet but are a huge fan of the Half-Life series, then we have great news for you - the developers of the NoVR modification have released an update that allows you to play the game on PC without using a headset. Using this modification, you can play the entire Half-Life campaign: Alyx, which is still an exclusive VR game on Steam.

You can download it for free at moddb.com. While this is a really big update, the mod is still a work in progress as the developers are working on some other tweaks to make all gameplay mechanics fully functional in non-VR mode.

Gravity Gloves are even available in the game, giving you the ability to grab objects at any distance with the touch of a button. This makes the entire campaign of the game accessible without the need for cheats. However, the developer warns that players may encounter some bugs during the game. If such errors appear, restarting the game may help to resolve them, but players are also encouraged to report them to help modders polish the game experience faster.
