Sega announces purchase of Rovio, creator of the famous Angry Birds franchise
Sega and Finnish studio Rovio have announced a merger.

The Japanese publisher has agreed to acquire Rovio, the creator of the popular mobile game Angry Birds. The deal will be worth €706 million ($775 million).
An official statement said that the two companies are interested in working together. In particular, Sega management wants to increase its assets, while Rovio plans to develop projects with the financial and technical support of its Japanese partners.
The deal is expected to close within a year and in the meantime, due diligence is underway.
