A co-op game that's better to play alone: IGN reveals the main features of vampire shooter Redfall
Journalists from IGN have published a preview of the co-op shooter Redfall.
Here's What We Know
There are a lot of interesting details in the big story, but we will focus on a few of them.
Redfall features the main elements that distinguish Arkane Studios' games: although the project was developed with co-op play in mind, it features many cinematic scenes, story dialogues, and notes.
IGN notes that Redfall itself is an atmospheric game, but with more than two players it turns into a chaotic shooter and gamers stop paying attention to the story. Therefore, if users want to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a town overrun by vampires, they should play the game alone.
The players will face different types of vampires, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. To defeat the main monsters, one must learn details of their past that will help identify their vulnerabilities, and only then engage in combat.
In Redfall you can also destroy vampire nests, that were created by procedural generation, so in theory each of them should be unique and different. And how it will be in reality - we'll find out on May 2, when Redfall is released. The game will only be available on PC and Xbox Series.
