The marketing campaign for the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is gaining momentum. Head of DLC development Gabe Amatangelo and the game's Quest Director Pawel Sasko have revealed several important innovations that will appear in the main game and the DLC.
Here's What We Know
Gabe Amatangelo revealed the following:
- Phantom Liberty's atmosphere is reminiscent of a spy thriller;
- The events of Phantom Liberty will unfold in the brand-new area of Night City, Dog Town. An ex-military man who has become a powerful arms dealer runs this part of town;
- After the passage of Phantom Liberty, there will be a new ending in the Cyberpunk 2077 main story, but what it will be - still a mystery;
- Players will be able to develop new skills and abilities;
- We will be able to start the add-on while playing the main game, or to launch Phantom Liberty directly from the Cyberpunk 2077 main menu, as it was in The Witcher 3;
- The DLC will have not only story and additional tasks, but a huge amount of new content, the players will have to work closely with the representatives of street gangs, many of whom set up very aggressive.
For his part, quest designer Pavel Sasko noted the following innovations:
- After the release of Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 will essentially be a completely different game. The developers will finish many elements, making them more interesting and large-scale. So, the players will have a lot more choices in the character's development, the developers will revise the role system, removing the boring and passive skills, and replace them with more practical and interesting abilities;
- There will be an opportunity to shoot with weapons while in a car, and to cut with katana while riding a motorbike. Especially for this new modes of transport will be added, including those with heavy weapons already built in;
- Game's difficulty will be changed and new types of enemies will be added;
- Cyber-implants will also be redesigned, limiting their number and adding side-effects: if the allowed number of implants is exceeded, the hero will feel the cyber-psychosis attack;
- In Dogtown, players will be able to find certain relics that will allow them to obtain new abilities and characteristics.
