Experts iFixit praised the iPhone 14 and recognized it as the most repairable model since the iPhone 7
Experts iFixit got to the new smartphone iPhone 14 to disassemble it and assess its repairability.
Here's What We Know
So, the gadget has earned praise from iFixit, especially for the removable glass panel on the back. Previously, we wrote that since the iPhone 4S Apple does not use a removable panel, which greatly complicated the repair: for example, to replace the glass on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, repairers had to completely disassemble all the parts from the screen side and install a new body, only without the "stuffing", camera and display.
Now the glass panel is easy to remove, it does not require any special expensive tools. Also Apple used less strong glue and made access to the display easier and more convenient. Replacing the battery isn't difficult either.
As a result, iFixit gave the iPhone 14 a 7 out of a possible 10 points for repairability. This makes it the company's most repairable model in recent years - or rather, since the iPhone 7.
