The cinematographer of the second part of "Joker" called the film "very risky" and said that the picture will definitely surprise the audience
According to cinematographer Lawrence Sher, "Joker 2" is already in post-production. The musical sequel "Joker: Folie à Deux", which will star Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, will be released in 2024.
Here's What We Know
Cher shared her opinion on the film with Definition magazine:
"Next year we're releasing the new Joker movie, and we're currently in the final stages of post-production. It's a pretty risky movie and it's going to be surprising for people. I'm so excited for everyone to see it."
The Todd Phillips film is still shrouded in mystery, with no plot being revealed. But, it is known that it will star Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn and will apparently take place in Arkham. Plus, the sequel will be a musical, as hinted by composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, saying that it will have several songs.
In addition to the two main actors, Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener have also joined the project in secret roles, while Zazie Beetz will return as Arthur's neighbour.
When We Can Expect It
Perhaps the "risk-taking" that Lawrence Sher talks about is due to the musical's appropriated genre, or perhaps the sequel will be even more provocative than the first film. Either way, we'll have to wait for the premiere, which takes place on 4 October 2024, to understand.
