What's up with the timeline?
The events of The Boys' season 4 take place a month after the first season finale of Gen V. Billy Butcher, embodied by Karl Urban, is now aware of a virus that kills superheroes. However, this may not necessarily lead to Homlender going to jail for good. As revealed in "Gen V," he's facing a murder trial.
Season 4 of The Boys won't be the end of the universe. As confirmed earlier this year, the second season of "Gen V" will continue the events of the last season on Prime Video.
Overall it is stated that you don't have to watch "Gen V" to understand "The Boys", but it is absolutely highly recommended.
