A $500 FPV drone destroyed Russia's newest 2022 model T-72B3 tank at a cost of $3 million
The Ukrainian army has destroyed a Russian modernised tank. The T-72B3 of the model of 2022 came under attack.

An unmanned aerial vehicle was used to destroy the main battle tank. An FPV drone costs only $500 on average, while the cost of a modernised T-72B3 of the 2022 model is approximately $3 million.

The combat vehicle received a 1PN-96MT-02 gunner's sight, a reduced resolution infrared camera and Contact-1 defence units. Recently, one T-72B3 of the 2022 model was captured by fighters of the National Guard of Ukraine.
According to Oryx analysts, the Russian army has lost more than 700 T-72B3 tanks in different variants in 19 months. The 2022 model version is very rare - at least four tanks have been destroyed.
