A large-scale update of the cooperative shooter Redfall failed to attract players, with a peak online of only 58 people on Steam

On October 6, the infamous Redfall, which failed at release, received a major update that improved optimisation, interface, enemy AI, and added innovations to the gameplay. It would seem that such an update should have attracted players to return, as before that, the project was usually played by up to 5 people, although it was released in May 2023, but no miracle happened.

Details

According to SteamDB, on the day of the update, 58 people were playing Redfall at its peak. Afterwards, the online game stayed in the range of 20-50 players, but 3 days passed and at the time of writing, there are 14 people online. However, it's not known how many people played on Xbox, because 60 fps was added there, and the game has been available on Game Pass since the release day, so theoretically, the situation could be better there, but it's unlikely that Arkane Austin will be able to come up with something else to keep the online at least at the level of 100 people (at least on PC). And Arkane once gave us the successful Dishonored and Prey. It's a pity that the studio is in such a state.

Redfall is available on PC and Xbox Series. The game received 3.5 out of 10 points from players on Metacritic.
