Payday 3 is losing players: not even a month has passed since the release, and the peak online game does not reach 10 000

We wrote that Payday 2's online peak was much higher than that of Payday 3. The release of Payday 3 was plagued by server issues and a lack of content. Although the developers are trying to rehabilitate themselves, Payday 2 is becoming more popular every day than the new part of the co-op heist shooter.

Here's What We Know

According to SteamDB, the peak online presence of Payday 3 on PC reaches 6-8 thousand players daily. On 21 September, when the game was released, almost 78 thousand players were playing it simultaneously. So, in less than a month, the game lost almost 90% of its audience, which is quite a sad figure. Currently, Payday 3 ranks 199th on the list of the most popular games on Steam.

What about Payday 2? Just last week, Payday 2's peak online was in the range of 30-40 thousand players. Later, the online dropped by 10 thousand, but on 16 October, this figure rose sharply, and now the game's peak online for the last day is 55,666 players. And at the time of writing this news, 48 thousand people are playing the game. Although it hasn't received a discount recently, its full price is only $10, and low system requirements and a huge amount of content make gamers look for the second part. Payday 2 is currently ranked 19th in the list of the most popular games on Steam.

The situation around Payday is quite interesting. Starbreeze Studios failed to successfully release the third part, but it gave new life to the previous game in the series, which is now one of the most popular on Steam. However, it is not known how long Payday 2 will hold this position.
