There's a lot of work ahead: studio Remedy Entertainment has revealed progress on the Max Payne remake, the Control sequel and two more big-budget projects

As part of the report for the third quarter of 2023, Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment reported not only financial figures, but also informed about the development progress of its new games.

Here's What We Know

In his commentary to the financial report, Remedy CEO Tero Virtala reported the following information, which, we are sure, will interest gamers:

  1. The release of Alan Wake 2 was successful, the game is highly appreciated by critics and the public, but it is too early to talk about its financial success, as too little time has passed since the release.
  2. The remake of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne has moved into the production stage. The developers have decided on the scope of the project, approved its concept and moved to active work.
  3. Control 2 is at the pre-production stage, the main concepts are being discussed and approved.
  4. Multiplayer game with the working title Condor in the Control setting has moved to the production stage.
  5. The conditionally free-to-play co-operative shooter Vanguard is approaching the final stage of concept approval. Full production of the game will begin soon.

Some of the Alan Wake 2 developers will join their colleagues to work on the above mentioned projects, and the remaining game designers will continue to deal with add-ons and updates for the horror game.

Let's remind, there are two story expansions for Alan Wake 2: Night Springs and Lake House.
