Remedy's plans have changed: instead of the free-to-play shooter Vanguard, it is now developing a full-fledged premium game under the working title Kestrel
It is known that the Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment has been developing a free-to-play shooter codenamed Vanguard for several years.
The developers have analysed the materials and together with partners from the Chinese corporation Tencent decided to relaunch the project.
Here's What We Know
Remedy executives informed investors that now instead of a free-to-play shooter Vanguard, a full-fledged premium game under the working title Kestrel is being developed.
Some of the material from Vanguard will be transferred to the new project, but the developers want to emphasise on what "they do best". Apparently, by that they mean an engaging story campaign.
The project has returned to the concept approval stage, so the development of the game will be delayed even more.
Recall, in addition to Kestrel, the studio is working on two additions to Alan Wake 2, Control 2, a multiplayer project in the Control setting, a remake of the first two Max Payne and other projects.
More details on Kestrel will come at a later date.
