Sony has announced a strategic partnership with South Korean studio NCSOFT. It is possible that their first project will be an MMORPG based on the Horizon universe
A year ago there were rumours that Sony Interactive Entertainment and South Korean company NCSOFT - the author of Lineage and Guild Wars - had signed a cooperation agreement.
These rumours were not confirmed by either party, but today, at last, official information has been received.
Here's What We Know
Sony announced the start of a strategic partnership with NCSOFT, which aims to release high-quality multiplayer games for all platforms.
Most likely, the contract with NCSOFT will be the last major agreement of the head of PlayStation Jim Ryan ((Jim Ryan)), who, remember, will leave his post on 1 April 2024.
The partnership with NCSOFT is part of our strategy to move beyond consoles and promote the PlayStation brand to a wider audience. Like Sony Interactive Entertainment, NCSOFT is committed to creating high-quality projects for players from around the world, and we are excited to announce a partnership that will seek to push the boundaries of gameplay.
The parties have not yet announced their joint projects, but it was known a year ago that NCSOFT was working on an MMORPG based on the Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West universe.
