The Redmi Note 12 Racing fast charging test showed 184 watts of power instead of 210 watts, a 13% reduction in charging speed, and heating to 43.3 degrees

Last week, Xiaomi presented the Redmi Note 12 Racing as the world's first smartphone with 210-watt charging support. Charger Labs experts tested the novelty and it turned out that not all indicators correspond to the ones announced at the presentation.

Here's What We Know

Xiaomi noted that the Redmi Note 12 Racing thanks to 210-Watt charging can fully charge in 9 minutes. However, during tests, the maximum fast charging power was 184W, which is about 12.5% lower than the claimed value.

It took 10 minutes and 10 seconds to fully charge the 4300 mA*h battery, not 9 minutes, as was said at the presentation. Here the deviation from the declared indicator was about 13%. Yes, in real life it does not play a significant role, but still such an error clearly does not play into Xiaomi's hands. During the test, the maximum heating of the smartphone was 43.3 degrees.

Note that the Redmi Note 12 Racing has something to offer in addition to 210-Watt charging. It is equipped with a Dimensity 1080 chip, an AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a main camera with 200 MP resolution. The cost of the smartphone was $360.

By the way, the smartphone has several alternative names, depending on which translator to use and which language to translate. In addition to Redmi Note 12 Racing model is found on the Internet as Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition and Redmi Note 12 Discover Edition.
