Caihong CH-7 - Chinese modernized stealth drone of the new generation with air defense protection
The Chinese military industry unveiled another drone at the AirShow China 2022. The new drone is called the Caihong CH-7.
Here's What We Know
The developer of the drone is China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp (CASC). It planned to present it last year at AirShow China 2022, but the premiere was canceled because the manufacturer decided to finalize its drone.
The CH-7, a member of the Caihong (CH), or Rainbow, UAV series, was unveiled on Mon at Airshow China 2018. It is considered the most advanced drone that China has developed. The first Caihong CH-7 prototype was announced back in 2018. In four years, CASC has been able to significantly upgrade the drone. The drone has a high degree of protection against enemy air defense systems and can fly at an altitude of up to 15 km, which is 5 km higher than the previous version.
Caihong CH-7 is made on the aerodynamic scheme "flying wing". The wingspan is increased from 22 meters to 26 meters. The maximum takeoff weight of the upgraded drone is 10 tons.
It should be noted that the Caihong CH-7 is not the only drone, which was shown at AirShow China 2022. The Chinese defense industry unveiled the Dragon 60B kamikaze drone, the Wing Loong 3 reconnaissance strike UAV, and the MD-22 test platform to test hypersonic technology.
