The AFU could receive German self-propelled 155-mm shells, which allow to destroy several targets with a single shot
The Ukrainian Armed Forces may have received self-directed German shells SMArt 155. This conclusion was drawn after a video of the destruction of the Russian Pantsir SAM system appeared.
What we know
On July 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed footage of the combat use of a projectile that destroyed two units of Russian equipment, including one Pantsir SAM system. The projectile in question is believed to be SMArt 155 of the German company GIWS.
Reaching a certain altitude, the projectile explodes and fires two munitions on parachutes. Each is equipped with radar and infrared sensors to search for armored vehicles. A hypersonic impactor is used to defeat it.
Initially it was assumed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine used a cluster projectile 155 BONUS which can destroy enemy targets at a distance of up to 35 km. However, it uses winglets, while in the video you can see a parachute in the frame.
