[Updated] The Ukrainian Armed Forces for the first time showed in action the M777 howitzer with GPS, which can shoot high-precision shells M982 Excalibur and PGK M1156
Updated: the video was filmed not at the battlefront, but in Germany. Now the military personnel of the Ukrainian army are training in Bavaria.
A few hours ago we wrote the American M777 howitzer in A2 modification, which can use PGK M1156 and M982 Excalibur shells, was first seen on the front. We did not have to wait long for a video of the gun.
What we know
M777A2 has GPS-navigation and module TAD-PIK, which provides the ability to use high precision projectiles PGK M1156 and M982 Excalibur. During firing, the deflection is only 50 m and 10 m, respectively.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive (or have already received) 1,000 M982 Excalibur rounds from the United States as part of the new military assistance package.
