The Czech Republic is ready to buy two dozen F-35 planes from Lockheed Martin.
What we know
The Czech Republic has initiated negotiations with the United States for the purchase of fifth generation fighters F-35. The government plans to purchase 24 planes, but a final decision on the number has not been made yet.
U.S. defense company Lockheed Martin has welcomed the Czech Republic's decision to buy F-35 fighters. These aircraft are used in nine European countries as the main fighter aircraft. There are 14 Swedish fighter jets Gripen in service with the Czech Air Force, the lease of which will last until 2027.
We should remind, Lockheed Martin has signed a contract with the Pentagon to deliver 375 units of F-35 over three years. The deal is evaluated for $30,000,000,000.
