Ukrainian air defense system destroyed 7 out of 8 cruise missiles launched by Russian missile carriers from the Caspian Sea
The air defense system worked perfectly, repelling almost all strategic missiles X-101 or X-555.

Yuriy Ignat, spokesman of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this. According to him, Russian strategic bombers Tu-95 or Tu-160 launched eight missiles at the territory of Ukraine on August 2 at about 5 p.m. Seven of them were successfully shot down.
They were launched from the Caspian Sea area in the direction of the western and southern regions of Ukraine. A Ukrainian Air Force fighter was able to shoot down one missile, and another six missiles were eliminated by anti-aircraft missile troops.
One missile reached its target in the Lviv region. It struck an anti-aircraft missile complex of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
