Ukraine received 50 Turkish Kirpi armored personnel carriers - 150 more will be delivered soon
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have received 50 armored vehicles Kirpi on wheeled chassis.
What we know
Armored transporters of Turkish company BMC have been received by the Marine Corps. In the near future Ukraine will receive another 150 units of Kirpi, which will increase the total number of armored vehicles up to two hundred units.
The reconnaissance APC with wheel configuration of 4x4 has anti-mine protection, B6 armor and is equipped with a 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine gun, which can be manually operated. The cannon rotates 360 degrees. The armored personnel carrier has five firing ports and four bulletproof windows.
The Kirpi can carry 14 troops, including two crew members. The armored vehicle weighs 16 tons. The Turkish Ministry of Defense received the first armored vehicles under a contract with BMC in 2014.
