U.S. will give Ukraine $89,000,000 for demining
The United States of America, following Ammunition for HIMARS, NASAMS, 1,000 Javelins and 50 M113 APCs: U.S. announced $1,000,000,000 new military aid for Ukraine, has announced the transfer of an additional $89,000,000 to Ukraine.
What we know
The US embassy in Ukraine has announced this. Due to the financing there will be involved about 100 groups on territorial demining. Besides, the money will be used for the creation of projects on training and equipping of the specialists on the disinfection of the explosive ordnance disposal.
By the way, the Ukrainian government estimates that 160,000 square kilometers of the country could be contaminated by explosive hazards. That's about the size of states like Virginia, Maryland and Connecticut combined.
