Ukraine expects will receive the first modern German IRIS-T air defense system this fall
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba reports that Ukraine expects to receive the first IRIS-T surface-to-air missile system from Germany this fall, which will make the sky more secure.
In addition, Kuleba stressed the importance of tank deliveries from Germany:
"I am convinced that German tanks will also be supplied to Ukraine as a result, it's just that the German government - and here I don't think the problem is the position of the Foreign Ministry - time is needed to go through an evolution before making such a decision. Under normal circumstances we wouldn't mind and could wait, but every day while someone in Berlin is thinking, advising, consulting on whether or not to give tanks, when to give IRIS-T, in Ukraine someone is dying because a tank didn't arrive, because a tank couldn't get into position and support our military."
At the same time, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who is visiting Ukraine, said that Germany is in active talks with other countries to buy ammunition for artillery systems for Ukraine.
"We are 150% on the side of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. And we will be with them as long as Ukraine and the Ukrainian people need our support. We will supply Ukraine with weapons for as long as there is a need," she stressed.
