FPV drone struck a moving Russian tank by flying into the hatch
Drones continue to demonstrate effectiveness on the battlefield. One inexpensive drone was able to spectacularly hit a Russian tank.
Here's What We Know
The Ukrainian Armed Forces don't just use United States-delivered bomber munitions like the Switchblade or Phoenix Ghost. The Defence Forces' arsenal includes FPV drones converted into kamikaze drones that fly one-way.
A video of the combat use of one such drone was published by the K-2 Battalion of the 54th Independent Mechanised Brigade. The video shows an FPV drone hitting a moving Russian tank by flying into the hatch.
The video was recorded in eastern Ukraine. The FPV drone operator was able to catch up with the moving tank a few seconds before the drone's battery would have been completely drained. Soldiers reported significant damage to the tank and the elimination of the crew commander.
