Ukrainian Armed Forces show rare video of German Gepard anti-aircraft tank destroying Russian kamikaze drones Shahed-131 and Shahed-136

The Ukrainian Armed Forces very rarely publish videos of air defence operations. This is done so as not to reveal the positions of air defence systems and other equipment to the enemy.

However, today, on May 25, an exception was made. The Ukrainian Armed Forces showed how a German Gepard anti-aircraft tank destroys Russian Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 Iranian-made kamikaze drones.

The video was recorded on the night of May 25. Within hours, the Air Force destroyed 36 of the 36 drones. Mobile fire teams, fighter aviation, surface-to-air missile systems and other components of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved.

The Gepard is an anti-aircraft self-propelled machine on the chassis of a Leopard 1 tank and is equipped with two 35mm Oerlikon KDA guns. The Gepard can intercept air threats at a range of up to 4 km. The maximum intercept altitude is 3 km.
