Ukraine's armed forces on 1 October struck the Smolensk aircraft factory in Russia, which produces Kh-59 missiles.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the General Directorate of Intelligence. Four attack drones were launched at the plant. Three of them hit the target. They caused significant damage to the production facilities of the aggressor's military enterprise.

Kh-59 (in modification Kh-59MK2) is an air-to-ground missile with a range of up to 280 kilometres. These are the missiles most often used by the rf air and space forces to attack Ukrainian military and civilian infrastructure. Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions suffer the most from this type of missiles.
