ATACMS Replacement: The United States ordered from Lockheed Martin new PrSM missiles for HIMARS and M270 with a range of up to 650 km

The U.S. Department of Defense has ordered a batch of new Precision Strike Missile (aka PrSM) from Lockheed Martin.

Information shared by the publication Shepard. We are talking about 54 missiles worth $77,420,000. It is planned to use them for testing. By the way, this is the second contract for the purchase of such missiles. The first one was signed back in 2021.

PrSM is ATACMS Replacement: Lockheed Martin is developing a new missile for HIMARS and M270 with a range of up to 650 km, it will be able to destroy ships for the M142 HIMARS and M270A1 multiple rocket launchers. It is supposed to be a replacement for the MGM-140 (ATACMS). The PrSM boasts an increased range from 300 to 650 km, as well as a reduced production cost. The PrSM is designed to engage air defenses and destroy enemy command posts, troop concentrations and naval targets.
