F-35 Lightning II fighters intercept Russian Su-27 and Il-20M aircraft near Poland

On the evening of 13 February, F-35 Lighting II fighters intercepted a group of Russian planes near the Polish border. This was reported by Reuters citing the Dutch Ministry of Defence.
Here's What We Know
Eight Dutch fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters are currently in Poland. The day before, they flew out to intercept three aircraft that approached the Polish border from the Kaliningrad region.
The military discovered one aircraft, but later it turned out there were three: an IL-20M reconnaissance aircraft and two Su-27 fighters. The Dutch F-35 Lightning II escorted them outside the NATO area of responsibility.
