Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone prices rise due to higher component prices and chip shortages

Last week on the web appeared updated pricing information for Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphones. Flagships of the new generation will rise in price by $100 compared to their predecessors. But there was an explanation for this.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 will start at $899, the Plus version will start at $1,099, and the Ultra variant will cost at least $1,299.

According to Korea Time, camera image sensors and charge controllers have risen in price by 10-15%. The cost of some “key components” has increased by 30-40% compared to the previous (we are talking about 2020) year.

Recall that the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra will be presented on January 8, 2022. On the day of the announcement, the company will announce official prices for all regions, but sales will start with a delay in some countries.
