OnePlus has released an update for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro that restores the full functionality of Google Camera
OnePlus recently released the new OxygenOS 12 stable update for last year's OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro flagships. In addition to several bug fixes, improvements and optimizations, and the January security patch, the update restores the stable and full functionality of Google Camera.
What was wrong?
For those not in the know, enthusiast-designed Google Camera ports allow you to install the app on OnePlus smartphones and extend the standard photo and video capabilities. But the recent OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12 disrupted work this and other similar applications - they were cut off access to auxiliary modules. That is, camera apps could only use the primary sensor.
OnePlus heard the complaints from users and promised to fix this oversight. No sooner said than done, smartphone owners can now use the wide-angle and telephoto lenses of their phones with a modified camera app.
The firmware version is OxygenOS 12 (C.44). Unfortunately, XDA Developers only tested the camera on the older OnePlus 9 Pro. But, most likely, the work of applications has been restored on OnePlus 9 as well, since the flagships received one update.
