Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is due out this year, the series' head says
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Final Fantasy 7 in Japan, and Square Enix is celebrating everything related to the game, including its new and upcoming releases. Also, Yoshinori Kitase, director of the original Final Fantasy 7, said that the company is even planning to release Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 later this year.
The event had already discussed the recently released Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier, as well as a few mentions of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis, but the live stream itself had nothing new about the next Remake chapter.

Instead, Kitase said, "We just started celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7, so we want to celebrate and please the fans, over the next 12 months, we want to share some information," according to PushDustIn translation provided by VGC.
Along with the broadcast, Kitase and Final Fantasy 7 Remake creative director Tetsuya Nomura released statements thanking the community for their continued support of the Final Fantasy 7 universe and their excitement for upcoming games in the series.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released in April 2020, nearly five years after it was first announced on the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 5 version of the game and its expanded release, Intergrade, followed the following year. Square Enix later ported Remake to PC on the Epic Games Store.
