Battlefield 2042 did not live up to EA's expectations
The fact that the release of Battlefield 2042 was a failure is unlikely to be disputed. Today, Electronic Arts itself acknowledged this in a report to investors.
The publisher admitted that the launch of Battlefield was much worse than she expected. As a result, the company lowered its forecast for the current fiscal year by $ 100 million.
However, such a failure did not cause great losses to the company, the game accounts for less than 10% of the company's total profits, and other franchises, such as Apex Legends or FIFA, still bring big money. Even more, the last quarter was the most profitable in the company's history.
EA names the following reasons for the failure of Battlefield 2042:
-
Heavy remote technology.
-
Unforeseen performance issues.
-
Players did not like some game design solutions.

EA said it has reduced its fiscal year forecast by $ 100 million due to the poor launch of Battlefield 2042.
But says that Battlefield is 2042 is <10% of the company's business. Other franchises doing well. https://t.co/MZmvh7ItQZ
