Visual comparison of Steam Deck with other portable consoles and a banana
Valve announced the Steam Deck last July, and the news was met with interest. Its premise is great - play your Steam games on the go, Switch-style - but many have been baffled by the button layout. Its buttons seem to run off the edge, the analog sticks are quite tall (not offset like on the Switch), and there are two very large touchpads.
The console looked pretty big. With ever-increasing hype for the device, Valve announced last week that the Steam Deck would be released on February 25th (to everyone who pre-ordered). The release date is close and some people have already gotten their hands on the device. They also posted some comparison images that show how big the Steam Deck is.
Here's what it looks like compared to other portable devices:
As you can see in the image above, the Steam Deck is significantly larger than the Switch. For fans of big screens and people with big hands, this is probably a huge plus. For fans of more compact devices, this excitement can scare off the purchase. Only time will tell, but luckily we won't have to wait long as the Steam Deck hits gamers' hands later this month on February 25th.
