Early loading of Sifu causes problems for PlayStation users, everything works flawlessly for PC players
Sifu, the long-awaited kung fu-themed rogue-lite fighting game, is now available for pre-download through the Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store, but pre-order owners can play the game earlier before its release on February 8th. However, PS Store users are having trouble downloading the game.
Many players who pre-purchased Sifu from the PlayStation Store are unable to download the game's files prior to launch. The problem is relevant for owners of the Deluxe Edition, who bought it to play the game 48 hours earlier.
Based on the information currently available on the issue, only PlayStation users are unable to download the game. Another issue is that Sifu was originally supposed to be released two weeks later on February 22nd, and the current issues may embitter players.
The developers have stated that they are aware of preload issues with the PlayStation Store. According to the official response, and judging by the fact that the issues are limited to the PlayStation Store, the problem could very well be with Sony and not with the developers.
PC players do not report similar problems. Deluxe Edition owners who have ordered from the Epic Games Store are already enjoying the early access period for the game. Sifu will also get a physical release this year, which should help get around the issues the game is currently facing.
Sifu officially releases on February 8 on PC, PS4 and PS5.
