Peaky Blinders will have its own VR game, where the choice of players affects the story
VR game developer Maze Theory has unveiled the title and official trailer for its previously announced adaptation of the Peaky Blinders TV show. The game will be called Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom.
The intriguing VR game has been in development for several years now. In 2019, Maze Theory was announced to be working on a game, but so far very little has been known about it. Maze Theory is a London-based studio that has previously worked on VR games set in the Doctor Who universe.
Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom will see Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson reprise their roles as Thomas Shelby and Arthur Shelby. In the game, players will have to infiltrate the underworld of Birmingham and gain the trust of the Shelby family. While no release date has been set yet, the game is slated for release in 2022. Maze Theory promises an epic crime drama and story driven by player decisions. The game is set in 1928, which means that the events of this story will take place sometime between the fourth and fifth seasons of its television counterpart.
In the trailer, Thomas Shelby talks about a mailbox owned by Winston Churchill that is filled with weapons and secrets. Maze Theory stated that players will engage in brutal battles that will accompany difficult moral choices throughout the story. Casting-wise, having Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson in this VR adaptation is a coup for the game.
Release "Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom» scheduled for 2022 for Oculus Quest.
