One of the most popular iPhones officially recognized as a vintage Apple product
At the end of last year, online there were rumors that Apple will add the iPhone 6 Plus to the list of vintage products. And this day has come.
What does it mean
The iPhone 6 Plus was first released in September 2014 alongside the iPhone 6. It was discontinued in 2016 after the launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Therefore, the smartphone was included in the list of vintage gadgets, the supply and sale of which ceased more than 5 and less than 7 years ago. Apple Stores and Authorized Service Providers continue to offer repairs for these products, but only if parts are available.
By the way, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus remain one of the best-selling and popular Apple smartphones. At the same time, the iPhone 6 is not yet considered vintage, as it was available for purchase until September 2018.
But support with software updates was discontinued for these two models back in 2019 with the launch of iOS 13.
