John Williams returns to Star Wars to score TV show Obi-Wan Kenobi
Legendary Star Wars composer John Williams will return to the Star Wars series to write the theme for the upcoming TV show Obi-Wan Kenobi, which premieres May 25.
According to Variety, last week Williams recorded music with the Los Angeles-based orchestra "under heavy security." Williams, 90, wrote the Obi-Wan Kenobi theme for the original 1977 Star Wars film, for which he won an Oscar.
Disney's new TV show Obi-Wan premieres May 25 on Disney+. In addition to Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan, the show features Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.
According to the TV show, the story "begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Revenge of the Sith Episode 3, when Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat - the fall of his best friend and apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who had fallen to the dark side as the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader." .
