Elon Musk wants Tesla on-board computers to support the Steam game library
Tesla electric cars are gradually becoming a gaming platform on wheels. If before there was talk of porting individual projects, such as Cuphead or Stardew Valley, now Musk is talking about supporting the entire Steam library.
The billionaire mentioned this when answering questions about Cyberpank 2077 on Modex S and Modex X. According to Mask, it is more promising to work on supporting all Steam games at once than to transfer them one by one.
Theoretically, Tesla electric cars should be compatible with the Steam library. There are several reasons for this:
-
Tesla electric car dashboards are based on the Linux system. As well as and SteamOS for Steam Deck.
-
The laptop and Model S run on an AMD RDNA2 chip - a similar architecture should help adapt projects for the electric car.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. What you really need to worry about is the support for Cyberpank 2077. Musk praised CD Project Red for the artistic style of Knight City in her tweet thanking the community.
We’re working through the general case of making Steam games work on a Tesla vs specific titles. Former is obviously where we should be long-term.
