For the second season of "Lone Wolves" in Halo Infinite, the developers have promised to add several new modes. In a recent article, 343 Industries shed some light on future innovations - three of them are completely new modes, and the rest are variations "on the theme"
The main innovations will be:
-
"King of the mountain" - a game familiar from childhood, but with slightly changed rules. A neutral mountain appears on the map, and two teams try to take it under their control. As soon as members of one group remain in the zone, the accumulation of points (one per second) begins. When the scale is filled, the team is credited with one point, and the zone changes its location.
-
The designer clarifies that the capture counter quickly rolls back to the starting position if no one is left within range.
-
-
"Land Capture" - At the beginning of the match there are three neutral areas on the map. When a player captures a zone, it is blocked and the Allied team drops a point. When all available areas are under control, three more will appear in a while. The victory is awarded to the team that scored eleven points.
-
"Fight to the death " - Twelve Spartans throw on one of the cards for the battles of large teams. Everyone has only five Sundays left. Once they are over, the player will only have to watch the battle or leave the match without penalty. If they manage to kill someone, the warrior will be offered a stronger weapon. As a result, only one Spartan will remain on the field.
-
343 Industries refused to score points in favor of eliminating opponents due to the theme of the season: "It's kind of like a wolf".
-
A weapon upgrade system was introduced to make gamers take risks instead of sitting in the corners of the map
-
All new modes will be available from the beginning of the chapter, but not "Capture the Earth" - it will arrive a month later as part of the game event.
-
As for the new variations of the modes, the developers have described several of them:
-
"Ninja Crusher" - energy sword and hook-cat endless charges. You need to jump by location and shred opponents nearby.
-
"Vampire" - as "Holding the ball", only the owner of the skull kills with one blow and has vampirism.
-
"Rocket repellent" - repellents and rocket launchers with unlimited ammunition. Apparently, you have to repel the shots of enemies or run yourself as far away from the explosion.
The second season of "Lonely Wolves" starts on May 3.
