Oppo Reno7 5G in for review
This is the Oppo Reno7 5G and it’s the latest arrival at GSMArena HQ. Here’s a quick unboxing while we go through the review process.
The Reno7 5G comes with a 65W charger, a USB-A to USB-C cable, SIM tool, and a nice case.
Here’s the Reno7 5G, sitting in the middle here, pictured next to the Reno7 (non-5G), on the left, and the Reno7 Lite all the way on the right. The family resemblance is clear with the squarish camera island on the back and 6. 43-inch AMOLED with a left-placed punch-hole camera on the front.

The Reno7 5G we have at the office is the Startrails Blue color, which has literal textured strokes etched into the rear panel. The panel itself is predominantly blueish, but tilt the phone at an angle and it starts to show off a rose-gold to a pinkish hue. The hues will intensify if you blast it with direct sunlight. Oppo Reno finishes are a favorite of ours, and we think this is the best.

A word on specs and performance. The Reno7 5G uses the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate, which adds a layer of snappiness when using the phone. ColorOS 12 comes as standard on the Reno7 5G, but it’s overlaid on top of Android 11, which is a big no-no at this stage of the year.
Another irk we have with the Oppo Reno7 5G’s software is that it’s stuffed with preloaded apps that you might not want – PUBG Mobile, Booking.com, LinkedIn, Amazon Prime Video, and Music, Amazon Shopping, Facebook, and Netflix – they take up a lot of storage. Luckily the Reno7 5G comes with 256GB built-in, in our case.
We have another review, so please leave it to us and keep watching!
