"Spider-Man: No Way Home" director John Watts has decided not to shoot the restart of "Fantastic Four"

Spider-Man director John Watts has refused to make Fantastic Four for MCU because he "needs a break from the world of superheroes."

• Director worked on the Marvel movie universe for seven years and during this time managed to shoot a new trilogy about Spider-Man.
• John said that withmaking three films about Spider-Man was an incredible life-changing experience for him.
• Marvel studio president Kevin Fudge said that working with John on Spider-Man films was a real pleasure and that the studio supports the director's decision to take a break. He is also waiting for his return to the studio.

The relaunch of "Fantastic Four" was announced in 2020, but so far the film is in the very early stages of production - the film does not yet have an approximate release date.
