Barnes & Noble reveals a budget-friendly e-reader Nook GlowLight 4e
Barnes and Noble has released a new, more affordable e-reader called the Nook GlowLight 4e. This reader is $30 less expensive than the previous model (Nook Glowlight 4), but it has some tradeoffs such as a lower resolution screen and less storage space. The two models are otherwise very similar, supporting USB-C charging and having anti-glare screens with scratch resistance.
The e-readers from Barnes & Noble are similar looking, with soft touch casing and physical buttons for turning pages. However, GlowLight 4e has lower resolution 212 DPI display than its 300 DPI counterpart. While the display size remains the same: 6 inch. Storage capacity reduced down to 8 GB instead of 32 GB in Nook GlowLight 4. Barnes & Noble says the GlowLight 4e will run "for weeks" on a single charge, while Nook GlowLight 4 can work for a month.
The Nook GlowLight 4e is $30 more expensive than the base Kindle, but it might be worth checking out for those looking for an e-reader that's not tied to Amazon. Pre-orders for the Nook GlowLight 4e are now open, and it will ship on June 7th.
