Samsung demonstrating its 200MP HP1 sensor by printing a cat billboard
Samsung introduced its 200-megapixel ISCOCELL HP1 camera sensor back in September last year, but so far there has not been a single smartphone with such a camera on the market. Motorola's 200-megapixel flagship is expected to arrive in July and will be the first smartphone with ISCOCELL HP1. Samsung began to advertise its sensor before the announcement of the device.
The company has recently released a video showing the highest detail that the ISCOCELL HP1 image sensor can provide. The video did not use a smartphone, but a sensor mounted on a board with an external display and a professional lens. Such an installation was created to take pictures of a cat. One of the shots with a 200 megapixel resolution was printed on 12 separate parts using an industrial printer/ They were connected to a large canvas measuring 28 x 22 meters, which was fixed on the facade of the building.
The Samsung ISCOCELL HP1 sensor offers a brand new pixel binning technology called ChamelonCell, which can group up to sixteen pixels to create photos of various resolutions, from 12.5 megapixel photos with 2.56 micron pixels to 50 megapixel photos (1.28 micron) and 200-megapixel shots (0.64 µm) depending on your needs.
