Residents of Lithuania collected €5,000,000 in three days to buy Bayraktar TB2 for Ukraine
At the weekend we wrote about the initiative of the Lithuanian TV presenter Andrius Topinas, who invited the inhabitants of the country to collect €5,000,000 to buy a drone Bayraktar TV2 for the Ukrainian army. The crowdfunding campaign did not even last four days.
What is known
Fundraising for the purchase of a Turkish unmanned aerial vehicle started on May 25. Two days later, Lithuanians transferred more than €2,500,000 Planned €5,000,000 were collected in three days.
Of course, ordinary residents cannot purchase a combat drone themselves. With a corresponding request, they turned to the Ministry of Defense of the country. The agency has already reached an agreement with the Turkish Ministry of Defense and the company Baykar Makina about buying an attack drone.
