Air taxi VoloConnect successfully completed its first test flight
German company Volocopter reported on the successfully completed debut test flight of an electric air taxi Volo Connect.
What is known
The first test took place in May. During the tests, the air taxi performed several maneuvers. The flight lasted 134 seconds. The manufacturer claims that a prototype air taxi with the operational and aerodynamic parameters of a future commercial version was used for testing. Volo Connect.
Vehicles can reach speeds of 64 km/h forward and 45 km/h when moving sideways. In the basic version, the taxi is equipped with six rotors that allow it to take off and land vertically. For direct flight, fixed wings and two more electric rotors are provided.
Commercial version Volo Connect will be able to carry four passengers at speeds up to 250 km / h. The maximum power reserve will be 100 km. The air taxi is expected to be operational in 2026.
