Apple will release new iPad Pro models with M2 chip and wireless charging in September or October

According to reports, Apple is developing a new form factor iPad Pro for release in early 2023, even though the company still intends to upgrade its existing 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro variants later this year, based on comments by well-connected Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman.

Last week, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young claimed Apple is working on a new form factor 14.1-inch iPad Pro with mini-LED display and ProMotion that will most likely debut early next year. According to "Majin Bu," Young's statement about a 14.1-inch iPad Pro was confirmed, but the hit-and-miss Twitter leaker also said that new iPads from Apple may be presented at an event later this year, which left it uncertain which models the leaker anticipated to appear.

Gurman's latest remarks provide further information about Apple's plans for the iPad Pro lineup and the dates of its forthcoming devices. In his most recent Power On newsletter, Gurman predicted that Apple will upgrade existing iPad Pros with M2 chips, wireless charging, and modifications to the camera system in September or October.

Gurman also stated last year that Apple was looking at larger iPad models, but warned that they wouldn't emerge until around 2023 because Apple's attention was still focused on releasing a redesigned iPad Pro "in the present sizes" for 2022.

According to sources, Majin Bu has said that Apple's new 12.9-inch model will feature smaller bezels around the screen than the previous version. This isn't something we've heard confirmed from other sources, however, reduced bezels are expected on the updated 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
